Composer Harry Gregson-Williams will keynote the Production Music Conference on Monday, October 17, in Santa Monica, CA, the Production Music Association announced.
Gregson-Williams composed music for all four installments of the Shrek franchise, as well as feature films including The Martian, Blackhat, and Gone Baby Gone and videogame titles from franchises including Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid, and Prince of Persia. His score for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe earned him Grammy and Golden Globe Award nominations.
"Mr. Gregson-Williams has distinguished himself as one of the world's leading film score composers, and we look forward to hearing his unique insights about the production music business and his successful transition into film scoring," said PMA Chairman Randy Thornton in a prepared statement. During his speech, Gregson-Williams will play clips from his films and discuss his career and his creative process, the PMA said.
The two-day Production Music Conference culminates on the evening of October 18 with the 2nd Annual Mark Awards for Excellence in Production, named after the late Andy Mark.
