Includes Thunderbolt 3 to 32Gb Gen 6 Fibre Channel ThunderLink Connector
ATTO Technology is bringing several new Thunderbolt 3 adapters for Fibre Channel networked storage to IBC, where the company will demo (Booth 7.F41) what it says are some of the highest throughput rates available for 4K workflows.
Among the new devices is the ATTO ThunderLink FC 3322, a Thunderbolt 3 to 32Gb Gen 6 Fibre Channel connector, as well as the ThunderLink 3162 Thunderbolt 3 to 16Gb Fibre Channel device that lets users still on 16Gb Fibre Channel networks increase bandwidth to a maximum 2750 MB/sec through Thunderbolt 3.
The adapters feature dual ports for redundancy, SFP+ modules (tested for interoperability) and a handy configuration tool that lets users monitor both Thunderbolt gear and ATTO host bus adapters (HBAs) in one place. The Thunderbolt products also contain ATTO's patented MultiPath Director, a multipathing driver also found in its Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs that lets Linux, Windows or Mac workstations and/or servers connect to robust and scalable workgroup storage found in production and post environments.
ATTO plans to demonstrate the devices on a workstation streaming 4K footage from a Facilis TerraBlock via Celerity 32Gb Gen 6 HBAs through a Brocade 32Gb Fibre Channel switch, as well as on a Lenovo ThinkPad P70 Thunderbolt 3 mobile workstation.
