Zoom North America announced the Zoom F4, a new six-input, eight-track field recorder priced at $650.
The Zoom F4 has four locking Neutrik XLR/TRS connectors, a 3.5mm stereo input jack, and a Zoom mic capsule (stereo) input. Outputs include two main outs, two sub outs, and a 1/4-inch headphone jack with its own volume dial.
Zoom said the F4 is built similarly to the Zoom F8, with low-noise mic preamps and timecode accuracy to 0.2 ppm thanks to a temperature compensated crystal oscillator. A 1.9-inch backlit LCD display is built into the front of the unit.
The Zoom F4 is expected to ship in October.
