ATTO Technology said it's shipping two new adapters that connect Thunderbolt 3 devices to 40GbE networks and storage systems.
Originally shown at NAB, the ThunderLink NQ 3401 ($1,595) is a simple box with two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports and one 40GbE port. The ThunderLink NQ 3402 ($1,995) adds an extra Ethernet port for dual 40GbE connectivity.
Both of the devices are backward compatible with Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2, Atto said, and support downstream USB 3.1 and 2.0 devices. Atto is aiming them at users looking to set up bandwidth-intensive pipelines including content delivery over IP and video rendering.
