A new firmware release adds video assist features from the Video Devices Pix 240i to its Pix-E series of 4K recording monitors. The new functions include the ability to add cue markers during recording or playback, build custom playbacks, and make playback loops of files, sections of files, or playlists.
As part of the update, the Pix-E7 gets a new SDI toggle button for comparing framing, color and exposure between two camera inputs.
"The Pix 240i was the first portable video recorder to offer a practical on-set alternative to computer-based systems for video assist," said Sound Devices Director of Product Management and Design Paul Isaacs in a prepared statement. "Now these popular tools are in our Pix-E line."
The new update is free to all Pix-E series users and is available for download from the Video Devices website.
