Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Robert Legato, ASC has joined the line-up for the VIEW Conference, which kicks off next week in Turin, Italy. Legato will talk about his work on The Jungle Book as part of a VFX supervisor slate that also includes ILM's Roger Guyett (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Russell Earl (Captain America: Civil War), Atomic Fiction's Ryan Tudhope (Deadpool), and MPC's Audrey Ferrara, environment supervisor for The Jungle Book.
Keynoters for the 17th annual installment of the VFX and computer graphics conference include Cornell University Professor Dr. Donald Greenberg, speaking on the future of VR, Zootopia director Byron Howard, Marvel Studios Executive VP of Physical Production Victoria Alonso, Trolls co-directors Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn, Sausage Party director Conrad Vernon, and Storks producer Brad Lewis.
Howard, Vernon, Ferrara and others will lead workshops on character design, storyboarding, screenwriting, and more. "Our workshops this year exceed any we've offered in the past in number and quality," said VIEW Conference Director Maria Elena Gutierrez in a prepared statement. "We are giving artists the opportunity to interact with the directors of major animated feature films, art directors, animation supervisors, and others."
Other industry insiders slated to speak at the conference include, from the realm of VR, Lucasfilm CTO Rob Bredow, Baobob Studios CEO and co-founder Maureen Fan; and, from the world of gaming, Zynga Art and Creative Director Daryl Anselmo, and 343 Industries Franchise Creative Director Josh Holmes.
