Criterion's Famed "Film School in a Box" Comes to a Stream Near You
After a last-minute delay pushed the launch back by a couple of weeks, the new movie-streaming service FilmStruck is online, presenting content from Turner Classic Movies and the Criterion Collection at pricing tiers of $6.99 or $10.99 per month. Criterion is banking on its cachet in the home video market to drive subscriptions — the site will feature "entire editions" of films that include the commentaries, documentaries and other special features that once set their DVDs and Blu-rays apart on video store shelves.
