AJA updated its RovoControl software for the RovoCam system and shipped the RovoRx-SDI, a companion UHD/HD HDBaseT receiver with four integrated 6G/3G-SDI outputs, one HDMI UHD/HD output, RCA stereo out.
The new releases expand workflow options for the RovoCam, which transmits uncompressed HD or UHD video and audio, control and power over a single HDBaseT interface at cable lengths of up to 100 meters. The new software release improves multicam setup and control for up to eight cameras, introduces new presets and the ability to share presets among RovoCams, including electronic "pan, tilt and zoom" settings for moving an HD field of view around a UHD image.
The RovoRx-SDI doesn't replace the existing RovoRx-HDMI receiver, but the addition of SDI capability makes it a better fit in pro workflows that require output to SDI-based broadcast monitors, routers and recorders as well as HDMI displays or devices.
RovoControl is a free download for RovoCam users. (RovoCam itself sells for an MSRP of $2,495.) The RovoRx-SDI has an MSRP of $995, while the RovoRx-HDMI has an MSRP of $495.
