Only a few weeks after shutting down The Croods 2, DreamWorks Animation SKG is eliminating 170 jobs at its Glendale facility next month, according to a report in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.
Citing "a source familiar with the situation," the Journal said the new cuts are separate from lay-offs in September that saw 200 positions eliminated. Those posts were in corporate, distribution and consumer products while the current round of cuts is apparently hitting the animation group.
DreamWorks Animation was acquired earlier this year by Comcast, which spent $3.8 billion to make the company part of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.
