Prodigiously talented filmmaker Brad Bird will receive the Cinematic Imagery Award from the Art Directors Guild (ADG) at the 21st Annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards, slated for February 11 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland.
The award will honor Bird's work across disciplines as director, producer, animator and screenwriter.
"The ADG is thrilled to recognize the amazing contributions Brad Bird has made to narrative design, while so adeptly creating a visual cinematic legacy for generations to come," said ADG President Nelson Coates in a prepared statement. "The amazing ways Brad and his teams have elevated the production design of animation and live action have raised and continue to raise the bar for all visual storytellers."
Previous winners of the Cinematic Imagery Award have included David O. Russell, Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg.
Bird's next project is Pixar's The Incredibles 2, slated for a June 2018 release.
