Cameraperson earned three Cinema Eye Honors at the 10th annual awards for nonfiction films held last night at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. The feature, a kind of career-spanning essay film directed by cinematographer Kirsten Johnson, was the most-honored film of the night, winning awards for outstanding feature film, editing and cinematography. (Read StudioDaily's interview with Johnson from last year.)

OJ: Made in America took two awards, earning honors for director Ezra Edelman and producers Caroline Waterlow and Edelman.

First organized in 2007 as a kind of protest of existing awards programs meant to recognize achievement in documentaries and other types of nonfiction filmmaking, Cinema Eye has grown into one of the largest and most prestigious events honoring the craft. Notably, it was the first group to present awards specifically for production, cinematography, score, and graphic design in nonfiction film.
