DirecTV subscribers in the U.S. wil have a chance to watch some 4K football — European football, that is — this weekend, as NBC Sports provides UHD coverage of two Premier League games.
NBC Sports Group and DirecTV have previously shown Notre Dame Football and the Rio Olympics in UHD, but this weekend's games (on channel 106) will be the first live U.S. telecast of Premier League soccer in UHD.
The games are Manchester City v. Tottenham at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 21, and Arsenal v. Burnely at 9:15 a.m. ET on Sunday, January 22. The same coverage is being broadcast in HD on NBC and NBCSN.
"Select" games over the rest of the season will also be available in 4K, NBC Sports said.
