Industry veteran Tom Fletcher, the former Fletcher Camera & Lenses exec, has been named director of sales at Fujifilm's optical devices division, the company said today.
In his new post, Fletcher will oversee sales and promotion of Fujifilm's broadcast and cinema lenses in North America, reporting to division VP Gordon Tubbs. Fletcher, who will work out of Lake Forest, Illinois, has been consulting for Fujifilm since last May, the company said.
"As we continue to expand our Cine-Style line and enjoy a dynamic transition from HD to 4K and HDR, we believe Tom is a perfect fit for the Fujifilm team," Tubbs said. "While at Fletcher Chicago, Tom and his staff worked with local and network news operation as well as freelance crews across the country. He really knows what our entire range of customers are looking for in optics."
Fletcher is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers, was a founding member of the Digital Cinema Sociaty, and received a Recognition of Service from the International Cinematographers Guild for his work educating members on digital camera technology. He is on the board of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers and the Production Equipment Rental Group.
