Warner/Chappell Production Music said it has begun licensing the 40,000-track catalog of CPM (formerly Carlin Production Music) in the U.S. and Canada.
Warner/Chappell has represented the collection outside of the U.S. and Canada since it originally acquired it back in 2010, but until January 1, it had been licensed in those countries by APM Music. Warner/Chappell now represents the CPM library worldwide.
“CPM has a long history and contains a wealth of versatile music across every genre imaginable,” said Warner/Chappell Production Music President and CEO Randy Wachtler in a prepared statement. “We are extremely proud to represent such a well-regarded production music catalog across the US and Canada and look forward to building on its already fantastic reputation.”
Clients for the CPM catalog have included Major League Baseball, Spongebob Squarepants, Dell, Geico and Armani, Warner/Chappell said. Watch the Armani spot, "The Courage to Say Sì," set to "Brave Heart" by pianist and composer Jean-Philippe Rio-Py, below.
