This one's a little esoteric, but could change the way you import your camera files to Final Cut Pro X. Steve Martin from Ripple Training suggests a technique for creating custom camera archives from original camera media. This allows editors to delete files from the archive — or even add files to it — but still retain the ability to make range selections in FCP. The technique gives you control over the set of files you're importing into Final Cut without forcing you to make changes to your original storage media, or to lose the ability to set in and out points in the FCP interface.
