New Tech Additions Include Two Digital Vision Nucoda Grading Systems and an Avid/Flame Suite
MTI Film has expanded in Hollywood to meet what it said was increased demand for post services, including support for HDR deliverables.
MTI added two color-grading suites with Digital Vision Nucoda systems and a new editorial finishing suite with Avid Media Composer and Autodesk Flame. Rec. 709 monitoring takes place on OLED screens from LG, while Sony's BVMX300 is used for mastering in HDR. IT infrastructure was also updated to increase bandwidth and storage capacity, the company said.
"We've built a complete HDR workflow," said MTI Film CEO Larry Chernoff in a prepared statement. "We can support productions from the set to screen, and provide deliverables optimized to any network specification including HDR10, Dolby Vision, IMF and AS02."
Among the projects at MTI is a 4K restoration of 1971's Escape from the Planet of the Apes for Fox and post-production finishing for the recently completed second season of Syfy's The Magicians.
MTI also said assistant colorists Alex Chernoff and Greg Strait have been promoted to colorist, swelling the ranks to three colorists (including colorist Tanner Buschman) and two supervising colorists (Steve Porter and Johnnie Kirkwood).
