Magewell is introducing two new 4K USB devices at NAB, allowing users to capture 4:2:0 4K and UHD video over a USB 3.0 interface via SDI or HDMI.

The USB Capture SDI 4K Plus can capture 4K video via 6G-SDI,  while the USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus captures 4K via HDMI 2.0. Both devices can capture 4K at up to 30fps. Video input with 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 color is automatically downconverted to 4:2:0 to fit USB 3.0 bandwidth requirements.

Both boxes support embedded audio, have separate audio I/O for capture and monitoring, and feature loopthrough connections allowing signals to be sent to an additional display or other piece of equipment simultaneously. They both work with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Pricing will be announced at NAB; expect a list price in the neighborhood of $459.
