RSA Films is the latest Hollywood entity to open a division dedicated to VR, AR and mixed media.
The Martian VR Experience
RSA VR will be led by Jen Dennis, co-executive producer of 2016’s The Martian VR Experience. The first official project to come from RSA VR will tie in to the forthcoming feature Alien: Covenant, directed by RSA co-founder Ridley Scott, and is being made in partnership with FoxNext and MPC. The VR experience will be directed by David Karlak and executive-produced by Scott and Dennis.
“In addition to being one of the most well-regarded producers in commercials and content, Jen Dennis brings hands-on experience developing and producing VR and is among the foremost influencers in the space,” RSA Films President Jules Daly said in a prepared statement. “Ridley has a long lineage as a pioneer in creative technology, and RSA’s roster includes incredibly talented directors who understand the unique language of VR.”
Other projects include episodic series Blackbox, directed by Karlak, and a new documentary series directed by Michael Muller.
