AJA said it has begun shipping the AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus, which records up to four channels of 60p HD ProRes simultaneously.
First announced at NAB, the 2RU half-rack unit is first and foremost a 4K/UHD/2K/HD recorder supporting Apple ProRes 422 and 444 and Avid DNxHD MXF (for HD only) recording and playback, with 3G-SDI, fiber and HDMI connectivity. It supports 12-bit input for encoding to Apple ProRes 4444 and ProRes 4444 XQ using AJA Pak1000 SSDs.
Additionally, the simultaneous recording feature allows four separate HD ProRes files, each with its own compression profile, to be written to AJA Pak SSDs or other eSATA-connected media. The channels coming into the unit can be displayed on the included 720p LCD screen in a quad-split layout that can also be output via HDMI, SDI and fiber.
The device supports up to 16 channels of audio over each input, for a total of 64 channels of audio recording.
