Software Can Be Combined with Z Cam S1 for Integrated 360 Production-to-Post Workflow
Assimilate said its Scratch VR software has joined Z Cam’s S1 VR camera in the Facebook Live 360 Ready program.
According to Assimilate, the combination of Scratch with the S1 is the only Live 360 workflow certified by Facebook. It allows productions shooting with the S1 to use the Scratch toolkit, including real-time compositing of graphics and text overlays and green-screen keying during live broadcasts.
“Along with our VR camera partner, Z CAM, our goal is to bring optimized, high-value, ease-of-use VR solutions to all VR content creators around the globe,” said Assimilate CEO Jeff Edson in a prepared statement.
A bundle offered by Z Cam and Assimilate covers the workflow from on-set preview and production through streaming, stitching and other post-production tasks, Assimilate said. The bundle includes Scratch VR Z and Z Cam WonderStitch, and is available at $4,999 with the Z Cam S1 and at $11,999 for the Z Cam S1 Pro, which uses Micro Four-Thirds sensors with better low-light sensitivity. (Scratch VR starts at $149.)
The integrated workflow will be demonstrated at SIGGRAPH this week in The Studio – B&H booth #915.
