Curious about the display technology behind SIGGRAPH sessions? As usual, presentations at this year’s event will be displayed using projection equipment from SIGGRAPH 2017 sponsor Christie, which released an advance summary of the exact devices that will be in use.
Displays in the conference’s Experience Hall will be projected using Christie Roadsters, the company said. That includes SIGGRAPH’s Art Gallery, Emerging Technologies, Studio and VR Village programming. Also deployed around the show will be CP4230 and Boxer 4K30 models, which will project the Real-Time Live! presentation as well as the 44th SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival. Keynotes and panel sessions will also use Christie projection gear.
Christie’s Roadster projectors are HD, WUXGA, and SXGA+ units rated between 11,000 and 14,000 lumens. The Boxer 4K30 is a 30,000-lumen 4K projector built for live events, while the CP4230 is a 4K projector rated at up to 34,000 lumens and designed for the digital cinema market.
“We’re proud to once again be the choice of digital display excellence for SIGGRAPH as artists and creators showcase their efforts in the highest image quality,” said Christie VP of Global and Corporate Marketing Kathryn Cress in a prepared statement.
