Music supervisor Chip Herter has been named Director of Creative Sync Services at Butter Music and Sound. The Los Angeles-based position will include heading up the company’s new music library, Haystack.
Haystack’s offerings will include Butter’s own library of production music along with content from other labels and publishers, the company said. Butter also plans to bring artists in for “residencies” that will generate exclusive music for Haystack.
Herter’s mandate will include working as a music supervisor on some Butter projects,a s the company continues to provide original compositions for brands including Ragu, DirecTV, Samsung, and Duracell.
“This is a golden opportunity to work with the pros at Butter to further my belief that music has a transformative power,” said Herter in a prepared statement. “I’ve long since admired Butter’s ability to work outside the perimeters of the average music company. Working with this team — especially to develop Haystack as a well-known resource for awesome sync music — is going to yield some magical results.”
