DJI updated the Mavic Pro with a new, quieter “platinum” version and debuted an “obsidian” variation on the Phantom 4 Pro with a matte-grey shell and magnesium gimbal in advance of the IFA consumer electronics expo that kicks off tomorrow in Berlin.
The Mavic Pro Platinum boasts new electronic speed controllers and redesigned propellers that increase flight time from 27 to 30 minutes and reduce noise by 60%, DJI said. The drone also gets a facelift with a new, platinum-colored shell. It’s priced from $1,099 (compared to $999 for the standard Mavic Pro) and is expected to ship in September.
The Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian’s look is meant to give off a more professional vibe than the existing white shell, redressing the drone in matte-grey with the new electroplated magnesium gimbal requiring a higher standard of manufacturing, the company said. It’s slated to ship in September for $1,499, which is the same price the Phantom 4 Pro currently fetches.
Both new products will be on display at DJI’s booth #105 on Level 2 of Hall 3 in Messe Berlin.
