VFX supervisor Lou Pecora has joined Zoic Studios in Culver City, CA. Pecora, an Academy Award nominee for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and three-time VES Award nominee for X-Men: Days of Future Past, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007), and Nike special-venue project “The Neymar Jr. Effect” (2016) comes to Zoic after an 18-year stint at Digital Domain as a VFX supervisor and compositing supervisor.
“Over the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to work with top filmmakers during this very exciting time in television, where shows like Game of Thrones and A Series of Unfortunate Events require feature-film quality for television,” said Zoic Executive Creative Director Chris Jones in a prepared statement. “Lou is a perfect fit for us, as he clearly brings that eye towards quality, but also really connects with these filmmakers.”
Pecora’s credits include Spider-Man: Homecoming, Maleficent, I, Robot, Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima. Among Zoic’s most recent projects are the divisive, one-of-a-kind Darren Aronofsky feature mother!, HBO’s blockbuster series Game of Thrones and Netflix’s The Defenders.
