Distributor The Orchard says Louis C.K.’s new feature film I Love You, Daddy was “conceived in the high style of 1940s Hollywood movies,” but it looks more like a barbed parody of Woody Allen in the monochromatic heyday of films like Manhattan and Stardust Memories. Co-written by Vernon Chatman (Wonder Showzen, Late Night with Conan O’Brien), it stars Louis himself as a TV writer whose daughter (Chloë Grace Moretz) takes up with an aging and reputedly predatory film director (John Malkovich).
