Rachel Morrison, ASC, Becomes First DP to Be Nominated by the Group for a Feature Film
The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) announce the nominees for the 32nd Annual ASC Awards for Outstanding Achievement — including a nod to Rachel Morrison, ASC, the first woman ever nominated in the ASC Award category recognizing cinematography for Theatrical Release.
Morrison was nominated for her work on Mudbound, which debuted simultaneously in theaters and on Netflix late last year. The first woman ever nominated for an ASC Award for her cinematography was Tami Reiker, who won for her work on the pilot for HBO’s moody Carnivàle, now a cult favorite.
