The Iloura name is going away. The VFX company with offices in Melbourne and Australia has merged with fellow Deluxe company Method Studios.
After about a year of work integrating operations, the two companies are now functioning together under the Method Studio banner, with offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Vancouver, and Pune in addition to Australia.
“We’re now one of the biggest VFX studios in the world,” said Method President and GM Ed Ulbrich in a prepared statement. “Our ability to take on larger and more meaningful pieces of big features, to act as sole or co-lead vendor, choose our projects, and produce the stunning work these teams are creating doesn’t come from one studio or brand alone. It’s a combination of the best of everything we have to offer.”
Iloura’s recent work included shots for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Bright, Game of Thrones season 7, and Thor: Ragnarok. Method’s recent and current projects include Black Panther, A Wrinkle in Time, The New Mutants, and Avengers: Infinity War.
