Oculus is showcasing a creative workflow that incorporates its Medium environment in a typical creative look-dev process from concept art to physical model. In this case, character designs by concept artist Carlos Huante were sculpted in 3D by modeler Gio Nakpil using Oculus Medium — an immersive creative environment with its own set of sculpting, modeling and painting tools. Once modeling was complete, the creature was turned into a set of 3D-printed pieces and assembled by Christopher Dombos at Arcane Visionaries, with the finished piece brought to life by painter Tim Gore as a physical sculpture. It debuted last month at Monsterpalooza in Pasadena, CA. For more info, including a transcript of the video, see the blog post at oculus.com.
