New York-based creative studio Psyop purchased a minority stake in Golden Wolf, a five-year-old London production company specializing in 2D animation.
The investment will bolster Psyop’s 3D offerings with 2D animation expertise, the company said, while allowing Golden Wolf to expand its headcount and leverage Psyop’s presence in New York and Los Angeles.
In addition, Psyop said it was folding sister company Blacklist, which reps a slate of directors and studios including Golden Wolf, into Psyop’s operations. Blacklist EP and MD Adina Sales has been promoted to run Psyop’s NYC office, housing the consolidated executive and sales teams from both studios, the company said.
“Aligning our amazing creators closer to Psyop, and applying my own efforts directly to both Psyop’s roster as well as Blacklist’s, represents an incredibly exciting opportunity to claim our stake as the go to resource for all things in the design, mixed media and technique driven space,” said Sales in a prepared statement. “Golden Wolf has been a fantastic partner and a standout on the Blacklist roster. We’ve put together a powerful creative network and will be stronger together.”
Psyop’s recent work includes “Only Slightly Exaggerated” for Travel Oregon and “Epiphany” for Sherwin-Williams.
