Broadcast Pix said it will show a new portable production switcher, the BPswitch RX, as part of its IBC exhibit next month.
The BPswitch RX is a standalone live multi-camera production and motion graphics switcher in an aluminum allow chassis with touchscreen display and streaming built in.
It offers four video inputs and two IP (RTSP or NDI) inputs, supports up to eight channels of clips and graphics, and boasts three keyers with DVEs, a built-in audio mixer, and seven outputs. It also has a built-in handle to make it easier to cart around on location.
NewBlue NTX 3D motion graphics are integrated, along with “hundreds” of title styles and templates for lower thirds, bigs, crawls, animations, and looping effects, Broadcast Pix said.
“These days, ‘good enough’ isn’t good enough when you’re on location, said Product Manager Tony Mastantuono in a prepared statement. “Viewers expect high-end productions, whether you’re in a studio or a stadium.”
The BPswitch RX can be controlled with keyboard and mouse, a hardware control panel, or the Broadcast Pix Commander touchscreen interface, designed for non-technical users. Specific tasks can be handled by a second operator on an iOS device using the company’s iPixPanel and iPixPad apps. Robotic camera control and Broadcast Pix’s BPfusion software for sports, election and news graphics are also supported.
The new BPswitch RX is expected to ship by the end of September at a list price of $14,995.
