Remember that movie trailer that was purportedly edited by an AI? Lexus is taking the next step, allowing the IBM Watson platform to “write” a new automobile advertisement. The AI was trained on 15 years of Cannes Lions award-winning advertisements as well as “emotional intelligence data” about what elements really connect with audiences. The AI-generated script was handed to director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland), who notes, “The charmingly simplistic way the AI wrote the story was both fascinating in its interpretation of human emotion, and yet still unexpected enough to give the film a clearly non-human edge.” For more detail, read the news release from Lexus Europe.
