Streaming solutions provider Vitec has acquired Jacksonville, FL streaming media hardware specialist T-21 Technologies, bringing T-21’s range of encoders and decoders under the same umbrella as Vitec’s own array of encoding and decoding appliances, desktop and mobile IPTV systems and PCI cards.
Following the acquisition, T-21 co-founder and CEO Kevin Ancelin will join Vitec as VP of worldwide broadcast sales, Vitec said.
“The acquisition of T-21 brings Kevin’s 32-year industry experience and knowledge to Vitec as we expand our product and strategy focus on the broadcast market,” said Vitec SVP Mark D’Addio in a prepared statement. “His expertise in product and market development will expedite our new product roadmap and sales efforts for leading broadcasters worldwide.”
T-21 was founded in 2014 by Ancelin and Mehdi Daryadel, and launched with the shipment of the T9261-D HEVC Ultra HD Platform, a small streaming and transcoding appliance supporting HEVC decode alongside AVC and MPEG-2.
