VFX, animation and 3D conversion specialist Dneg said Corey Turner will head its Hollywood feature film team as head of production in L.A.
Turner, formerly SVP of post-production at Paramount Pictures, was executive stereographer on all of Paramount’s 3D output since 2011, including last year’s Bumblebee and Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
At Dneg, he will be charged with raising the profile of the company’s creative services with Hollywood feature film studios.
“I’m delighted to welcome Corey to the Dneg team,” said Dneg CEO Namit Malhotra in a prepared statement. “His experience in VFX and stereo conversion, along with his creative approach to his work and his extensive relationships in the L.A. filmmaking community, make him the ideal person to lead the charge in building Dneg’s film presence in Hollywood. I’m thrilled to have him on board, working alongside and complementing our highly successful L.A.-based Dneg TV team.”
Currently up for an Oscar for its visual-effects work on First Man, Dneg is in production on a slate of film projects that includes Avengers: Endgame, Hobbs & Shaw and Wonder Woman 1984.
Earlier this month, the company won two VES Awards: one for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature for its work on First Man, and another for Outstanding Effects Simulations in an Episode, Commercial or Real-Time Project for its work on Altered Carbon.
