Iqra means read in Arabic. The Iqra Fund is an NGO dedicated to providing access to high-quality education in remote parts of northern Pakistan, with an emphasis on girls. In “Girls Section,” Advocate-filmmaker Kathryn Everett shows the faces of the girls who are benefiting from the program — which has enrolled more than 3,000 students and hired 74 teachers in 22 communities — despite violent opposition by extremists in the region.
