When Werner Winkelmann opened Australia’s Neglab in 1997, he was told he was already too late — that film was already dead. Before long, he had a staff of 14 running the lab 24/7. But by 2011, film really did seem to be dead, and he was forced to close his doors. Today, he’s back in business. Directed by W.A.M. Bleakley and Lucy Knox and shot on Kodak film stock, “Last Man Standing” profiles Werner Winkelmann, who runs the last film lab in Australia.
