Michelle Munson, the Emmy-winning founder and former CEO of Aspera, has been named to Avid’s board of directors, the company said.
Munson replaces John H. Park, a partner in Jackson Park Capital, on the board.
“With Michelle Munson’s background as a technologist and business leader in media technology, Avid’s board strengthens its extensive industry expertise in order to best represent the markets we serve, as well as support our shareholders and their interests,” said Avid President and CEO Jeff Rosica in a prepared statement. “I’m very happy that Michelle helps our board to gain a broader and more comprehensive view of media technology and the needs of Avid’s customers, while complementing its solid mix of experience in media and business management, governance, education and finance.”
Munson is the CEO of Eluvio, a developer of Internet video technologies that she co-founded in 2017. Prior to that, she spent more than 14 years at Aspera, where she created the FASP transport protocol and software platform for high-speed data transfer over IP networks. (Aspera was acquired by IBM in 2014.)
