Boris FX released Mocha Pro 2020, a new version of the planar-tracking software with an expanded toolset.
Among the new features in Mocha Pro 2020 are the Mega Plate module, which uses Mocha’s planar-tracking and temporal frame analysis technology to generate a stitched panaromic effects plate from a moving shot. The resulting larger-than-raster plate allows artists to work on an extended canvas when creating matte paintings, adding set extensions or sky replacements, or retouching the image and removing objects. The image can also be exported as a clean plate for further manipulation or use in other painting or compositing applications.
The Area Brush allows users to easily define tracking search areas using gestural paintbrush interactions, with added or subtracted paint strokes being converted to vector splines. And Mocha Pro now has OpenColorIO support, making it compatible with ACES color workflow and improving interoperability with applications including Autodesk Flame, Avid Media Composer, Boris FX Silhouette, Foundry Nuke and more, Boris FX said.
Watch the summary video, below, to see the new tools in action:
Mocha Pro 2020 is available as plug-ins for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, and OFX hosts (Blackmagic Fusion, Foundry Nuke, Hitfilm, Magix Vegas Pro, etc) and as a standalone application. Pricing starts at $695/license or $295/year for an individual host single license.
